Paul Himmel & Lillian Bassman
I am in awe of Paul Himmel's work. I looked briefly into him as I researched for a school project last year and I have not been able to get him out of my mind. This term I need to do a fashion film and as I brainstormed for ideas for that project my mind kept going back to a set of Himmel's photos... they are so dauntingly beautiful and inspiring.
Himmel was born in 1914 and at the height of his career as a photographer in the 1950's he worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
Himmel was married to another incredible fashion photographer, Lillian Bassmas.
I highly recommend that you have a look at their work, it's beautiful.
