Rise of the Tutu

For my research on Carrie Bradshaw I have been looking at a lot of different fashion items. Not only do I have to research, I also need to buy or borrow items for a photo-shoot based on Carrie. I was very inspired by the little tutu she wears in the opening credits of every show and wanted to take that further. I also remembered that she wore a mint-green colored tutu skirt in one of the Paris episodes in series 6. So after watching it back I have become tutu obsessed! I did some more searching and found that the tutu is now making a return! And should be an essential addition to every girls closet in 2012! D&G have just launched a Carrie Bradshaw inspired maxi-tutu (a.k.a tulle skirt) that comes in pink and green, and I think the green one has already sold out!

All this tulle and tutus got me to want a Lanvin for H&M dress that I´d remembered from the 2010 partnership. I searched the all mighty ebay in hope of finding one that suited my budget. I was wrong! So wrong! They were selling for just under 300 pound! I cried on the inside, but soon found other options such as a similar skirt to the one Carrie is wearing on the picture above, for 50 pounds. I decided to take a day to think it over before buying the skirt, and went to Camden to dig around in the shops there. I struck gold!!!! I found the famous Lanvin dress for 70 pounds, I couldn't believe it!

And now it's mine! I can use it for my photo-shoot and for my own personal use, I'm so happy! And if I need to, I can sell it on ebay for 300 punds!
SCORE!

Think I'm still gonna have to buy the skirt though, since it's gonna be an essential for the fashion year of 2012!

Lovely lips

I went on a journey yesterday to the MAC shop on Carnaby street, the mission was to buy my first ever lipstick!
I got great service, and an big "REALLY?" when I told the sales assistant why I was there...
So the color that I chose is called Fusion Pink, it was the first one I tried on, and the one that the others
just couldn't compete with

I feel like there will be more beautiful lipsticks coming my way...
just look at them, waiting for me!

A few new things...

 O.P.I Shatter nail polish

Kron by KRONKRON tights, Leaf ring, black and gold necklace, O.P.I shatter,
Handmade headband (Lína design), rabbit fur headband.

--------------

I plan to save the Kron tights until spring, that is if I can resist wearing them!
I absolutely love the two headbands...
The only downside is that London is just too warm for headbands right now! and it's January!
What's up with that?

I   ♥  this

This is my work from last semester. I chose a fairytale theme with a twist. I wanted it to show 3 famous fairytales in a way that you would recognize them even if you can only see the model's feet. The power of media is so strong that unless you grew up with no access to books, tv or media of any kind, you will know these stories.  My twist is that I wanted these to look "imperfect" because non of us are indeed "perfect". So the models have toes that are slightly bent, unshaven legs and dresses made out of sheets.... a bit like myself! Actually I am the model in one of these photos, can you guess which one?
